PRACTICAL GUIDE

Know the essentials before you need them.

Reviewed 14 August 2026. SaudiWelcome is an independent educational platform. Changing travel, health and regulatory information should always be rechecked with the responsible Saudi authority before your journey.

01

Confirm completion

Nusuk's Umrah journey places shaving or trimming the hair after Tawaf and Sa'i as the final rite. Once this is completed, the Umrah is complete and the restrictions of Ihram end.

02

Rest and recover

Umrah can involve significant walking and crowd exposure. Hydrate, eat, rest and give yourself time before adding demanding activities to the same day.

03

Plan your remaining time in Makkah

If you are staying in Makkah, keep your schedule realistic. Prayer, rest and useful visits do not need to become a rushed checklist.

04

If you are travelling to Madinah

Madinah is a separate visit from the rites of Umrah. Plan transport and accommodation in advance and use the Madinah guide to understand the city and visit respectfully.

05

Keep documents and departure plans organized

Recheck hotel checkout, transport, luggage, airport or train timing and any current travel instructions before your onward journey.

06

Take the lessons home

A useful way to remember Umrah is to choose a few habits or intentions you want to continue after the trip rather than treating the journey as finished the moment you leave Makkah.
